The City of Auburn is ready for the 27th annual Festival of Lights scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. first starting at 5:30 PM. The chamber team say the parade will go on Saturday as scheduled with a chance of a little rain. The parade starts at Harrison and Lincoln way, will proceed down High Street, and ends at the Gold County Fairgrounds. The Activity actually starts early in the morning as the floats start to assemble and final touches are put on and lights are tested. The Festival of lights draws fans from all over the area and often exceeds 10 thousand viewers. Close to 100 floats will be featured. Steve Galyardt, chairman of the parade said that if conditions become dangerous for the floats such as ice, heavy rain of high winds, then the parade could face stoppage.
