Truck Hits Power Pole Knocks Out Power to 1700 PG&E Customers at Combie and HWY 49

Power was knocked out to 1700 PG&E customers and traffic was limited to 1 lane on Combie Road at the corner of Combie and HWY 49 near Lake of the Pines Sunday.
At 8 o’clock Easter morning a pick-up truck heading Northbound on Combie road near HWY 49 hit a power power and the power pole landed on the pick-up truck trapping its occupants. Officer Lillyquist with the Grass Valley CHP Office says there were no injuries. The occupants were transported by ambulance as a precaution. the westbound lane of Combie remained closed for several hours as the power and phone lines lay across the highway waiting to be repaired.

PG&E restored customers quickly. Cars exiting eastbound were diverted around the Higgins Cal-Fire station. Westbound traffic from the north was turned around.
