Today’s facebook health message from Sutter County asks, did you know there are about 48 million cases of foodborne illness annually in the United States? That’s 1 in 6 Americans sickened each year! These illnesses result in about 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths. Foodbourne illnesses can be prevented by handwashing, cooking food thoroughly, and refrigerating foods within two hours of cooking them (in summer, this goes down to one hour).
