The Horses for Healing, founded by Judy Garhart in Auburn is having their annual Rigatoni dinner is this Saturday. Judy recently passed away and the volunteers want to continue her vision to help rehabilitate people who suffer from an injury and to assist in physical therapy of those with special needs. Cathy Keenan one of the volunteers says working with the horses makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Cheryl Arena, the barn manager says the volunteers are raising money for the regular healthcare and well being of the horses used in the program.
Horses for Healing, maintains 3-donated horses and serves 15 clients in Placer, El Dorado and Nevada Counties.
In addition to the Rigatoni dinner there will be a Live Blue Grass Band, the banner Mt. Boys, Silent Auction and Live dessert Auction. Tickets are $15. Dollars. The Benefit dinner is Saturday April 20th beginning at 4:45 pm in the Sierra Building at the Gold Country Fairgrounds on High Street in Auburn. Call 887-9573 for tickets or more information.
