10th Annual Keeping Kids Safe Event in Grass Valley

The 10th Annual Keeping Kids Safe Event was held Saturday in the parking lot of the Beam Easy Living Center on Harrison Street in Grass Valley. Each year Mark Klaas, father of Polly Klaas the 12-year old Petaluma girl who was abducted from her home and killed, comes to Grass Valley to teach parents how to keep their kids safe. Law Enforcement, fire department and service clubs filled the parking lot to provide a carneval like atmosphere for children to learn as they play. Mark Klaas also provides a finger print and photo booth sponsored by the Polly Klaas Foundation free of charge. Klaas explains how important having such information is, in an emergency.

Klaas has worked tirelessly since the loss of his daughter in 1993 to save children abducted and he says there is a very short window of time to get the information out to authorities.
