WWII Flying Fortress B-17 in the Air Over Sacramento this Weekend

A piece of WWII history and Hollywood history will be on display in Sacramento this weekend. The B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber and the star of the movie “Memphis Belle” will be in the air with 30-minute rides to the history and aviation loving public at Mather Air Field in Rancho Cordova April 27 and 28th.

WWII veterans were invited on a media flight Monday to get back in the B-17, much like the plane many of them flew out of England to Germany during WWII, including Veteran Tail Gunner Henry Engel.
