Tio Pepe Crash Victim Identified
54-year old Bret Montague of Auburn has been identified as the victim in the crash at Tio Pepe’s Restaurant on Washington Street in Auburn Monday April 22nd. At approximately 2:30 P.M. on Monday, April 22, 2013, a 72-year old female was a…ttempting to park her car in front of a restaurant on Washington Street, in the City of Auburn. The driver lost control of her vehicle and it entered the outdoor patio dining area of the restaurant. The vehicle struck three patrons who were dining at on the patio and trapped a 54-year old bret Montague of Auburn under the vehicle. The Auburn Fire Department also responded to the scene and extricated the Montague from under the car, who was then transported to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Montague’s wife and a male friend who were seated with the 54-year old male were also transported to the same hospital. Both were released later in the day after medical treatment. Unfortunately, at approximately 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, Montague, who had been pinned under the car passed away due to the injuries he sustained in the incident. Details of the investigation and the identities of the other involved parties are not available at this time as this is an ongoing investigation.
