Nevada County Fire Response

Grass Valley and Nevada County Consolidated Fire engines had a busy shift Monday night into Tuesday. The first incident was a single motorcycle accident on Ball Road in Alta Sierra Monday around 6 pm.

arriving engine companies found a single patient with head trauma and other injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. Firefighters along with medics provided care to the injured patient in preparation of transport by air ambulance.

A landing zone was set up near the golf course in Alta Sierra for CALSTAR air ambulance. The patient was flown from the incident to a local trauma center.

later, in the early morning hours on Tuesday, engines responded to a single vehicle roll over on Highway 20 West of Brighton. Arriving engine companies found a single vehicle that had overturned in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 20, a single patient was out of the vehicle. Firefighters along with medics provided patient care prior to transport to Sierra Nevada Medical Center. A single lane of Highway 20 was briefly closed for the incident. Fire crews removed debris from the Highway including cutting several small trees that had fallen onto the roadway.
