Placer Grad Comes Home with A Challenge to Change Lives in Haiti

Auburn Graduate of 2000 Brandon Vedder is coming home to Auburn for the screening of the award-winning, critically-acclaimed documentary – La Source, which Vedder is the Producer. The documentary is narrated by Oscar nominee Don Cheadle.  This inspiring film tells the unlikely story of a janitor at Princeton University brings clean water to his home village in Haiti.

 Joe’s dream ended in 2010 with the tragic earthquake in Haiti. Joe lost 11-family members in the devastation and thought his dream died with his family. The students and staff at Princeton heard his story and came together to help Joe and this is the story that Vedder has captured in La Source.

 Vedder is bringing more than a documentary to the State Theater on Lincoln Way in Auburn. The Auburn grad is bringing the chance to change lives by raising funds for another well, the Auburn well for another village in Haiti.

The town of Auburn is being asked to  raise $65 hundred dollars to provide one water well for the village of Redoute in the Cabaret region which will serve approximately 500 people. The La Source screening this Saturday at 4pm at the State theater at 985 Lincoln Way in Auburn will be followed by a Q&A with Brandon Vedder. There is also a 7pm showing. The ticket price includes the After party fundraiser from 8:30-11 p.m.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students or group of 15.
