Placer Nature Center Offers Summer Camps That ‘Rock’. Called “Footsteps to Summer Fun” the camp schedule and lineup, promises to be fun and educational.
Starting in the middle of June, the weeklong camps will focus on different nature-related themes with hands-on science investigations and experiments. To optimize each child’s learning experience, the camps will be divided into smaller groups – only 3 or 4 per assigned counselor. Brayden Mitchell, executive director says there is a lot to look forward to with the first camp called Green Gardening” which starts June 17.
Mitchell encourages parents to sign up on-line at www.placernaturecenter.org/summer camp as the camps can only take a limited number of students.
Each camper will take part in crafts, games, puppet shows, light hiking, sing-alongs, and plant & animal investigations. They’ll have fun while building social skills and learning how to interact with nature.
