Gold Run CHP Officer Todd Kettwig passed away Monday morning after losing his battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He put up a brave fight and continued to show up at the Gold Run CHP Office to serve his community even while he was in pain and suffered the effects of treatment.
Officer Kettwig graduated from the CHP Academy in October of 1990 and served in East LA through the spring of 1992 during the LA riots. Kettwig served in the Oakland area and Fort Bragg CHP Offices before finding a home at Gold Run. Kettwig served as the Public Information officer in Gold Run and was dedicated to serving the community on and off duty, pitching in on many fund raisers, community events as well forming partnerships between law enforcement and the citizens of the community at every opportunity.
Officer Kettwig is survived by his wife and 2 daughters, his parents and brother, a host of CHP brothers and sisters and countless friends.
Services will be held at Saint Teresa of Avila Parish in Auburn on Wednesday May 29 at 11am.
