Memorial for Gold Run CHP Officer Todd Kettwig

The memorial for Gold Run CHP Officer Todd Kettwig filled the St. Teresa Of Avila Catholic Church in Auburn Wednesday morning to overflowing. CHP Officers from up and down the sate attended the services for the Officer who died after a 19-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Friends and family and those who worked with Todd also came to pay their respects. Officer Kettwig was the Public Information Officer with the Gold Run CHP Office and worked tirelessly to connect with the community he worked for and to keep the stretch of Interstate 80 from Colfax to Truckee that the Gold Run CHP patrolled, safe. Among the many speakers was CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow, Gold Run Commander Lt. Any Williams, Placer county D.A. Scott Owens as well as Todd’s brother Darren who spoke on behalf of Todd’s parents. Todd’s wife Karie and his 2 daughters Mackenzie and Megan also spoke about the great father and husband Todd Kettwigg was.

Officer Kettwig had been with the department for 23-years.
