Woman in Jail after Punching Man

Woman ends up in jail after hitting a man and trying to take his Mandolin.

On Thursday morning May 30th Auburn Police Department officers were called to Auburn Ravine Road for a physical fight in progress. When officers arrived, they detained Chien Hershberger as she was walking away from the scene.  According to officers Hershberger did not know the victim, there was no argument, and she walked up to the victim holding his mandolin and punched him several times and attempted to forcibly take away the musical instrument from his possession. The victim was able to break away and call 911 from a nearby business. Hershberger was identified as the suspect and arrested for attempted robbery and battery. Hershberger is currently being held at Placer County Jail for a bail amount of $50,000.
