Placer High School All American Defensive End Eddie Vanderdoes to Stay in CA

Placer High School football 5-star recruit All American Defensive End Eddie Vanderdoes tweeted Tuesday morning that he will not be attending Norte Dame.

“I would like to thank the University of Norte Dame for lifting the recruiting ban and allowing me to sign an athletic scholarship with UCLA, Over the past four months, circumstances have changed for me and my family. For very personal reasons, I feel a strong need to remain close to home and be near those who are most important in my life.

Brain Kelly the head Coach of Norte Dame says he will not release Vanderdoes from his letter of intent. In a news release Kelly stated “Eddie Vanderdeos will not be attending Norte Dame we did not release him from his national letter of intent in order to protect the integrity of that very important program, but we have worked with the Vanderdoes family so that Eddie can continue his education this fall at a school closer to his home”.

If Vanderdoes gets the release he can play next fall for UCLA, if Norte Dame doesn’t give him the release then he will have 4-years to play 3. He can appeal to the National Letter of Intent Board and also appeal the Norte Dame decision. Various reports indicate that the UCLA coaches will be in Auburn Tuesday.
