Officers arrested the pair in the Eldorado National Forest on April 20 after finding them in possession of 20 large bear claws and three bear gall bladders during a search of their vehicle.

Under California Fish and Game laws, it is a felony offense to sell, purchase or possess for sale any bear part. Under California law, possession of more than one bear gall bladder is evidence that the bear gall bladders are possessed for sale. The pair is expected back in court July 22nd.
