A Fire, considered suspicious burned 30 acres and severly damaged homes in Roseville Friday afternoon. The call went out about 2:25 Friday afternoon for a grass land fire threatening homes and the Maidu Park area. Brian jacobson the Public Informaiton Officer with the city of Roseville says the Maidu Museum, Libraray and School did not suffer any damage in the fire.
Jacobson says 4 homes were damaged. 2 moderatly and 2 severely. Jacobson says they home with wood shake shingel roofs suffered the most damage.
Cal-fire, Sac Metro, Rocklin, Roseville, Penryn, Loomis, Auburn and South Placer Fire departments all sent units with 180 firefighters working taking 3 to 4 hours to surround and control the blaze. The fire is considered suspicious and there is an investigation under way. A preliminary report lists arson as the likely cause .
