Retired El Dorado County Sheriff’s Sergeant Arrest

A Retired El Dorado County Sheriff’s Sergeant has been arrest on child pornography charges.

Sheriff John D’Agostini released a statement from the department stating: Sheriff John D’Agostini holds his personnel to high standards and takes any indication of inappropriate behavior seriously.

In January of 2013 Sheriff’s Office personnel discovered information that a Sheriff’s Office Employee might have been involved in inappropriate activity.

An investigation was initiated by the Sheriff’s Office to determine if William Wilson was in fact involved.

During the course of the investigation the employee retired but the investigation continued.  Eventually information was developed indicating the employee had committed criminal acts of possessing child pornography.

The findings of the investigation were submitted to the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office to be reviewed for the filing of criminal charges.  As the result of the Sheriff’s Office investigation the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office has filed criminal misdemeanor charges.

On July 9, 2013 William Wilson turned himself into the El Dorado County Jail for a Book and Release per orders of the District Attorney’s office.
