The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to help identify a suspect, who attempted to rob the El Dorado Savings Bank located at 3443 Lake Tahoe Blvd, in the Bijou Shopping Center, at about 3:30 Thursday afternoon. Lt Brian Williams says the suspect appears to be an elderly white male adult, possibly in his 70’s.
Lt. Williams says their officers were tied up with an injury accident across town and could not get through to the bank.
The suspect passed a demand note to a teller and then appeared to change his mind about following through with the robbery. No weapon was ever threatened or displayed. The bicycle is described as a white or chrome girl’s style frame with a large basket on the front and a black bag affixed to the back.
