An Arrest has been made in a series of residential burglaries in Auburn. The Auburn Police Department released a statement saying Patrol Officers from the Auburn Police Department were following up on leads in the Colonial Village Apartments, into the recent string of burglaries that occurred in several locations in the city of Auburn. During the follow-up, officers found the involved vehicle parked in the parking lot of the apartment complex. While watching the vehicle, they saw a subject that looked like the person in the surveillance video, enter the car, and start to drive off. The vehicle was stopped as it left the apartment complex. During the investigation, it was determined the driver, 27-year old Thomas Woodhouse of Auburn, was in fact the person in the surveillance video. Woodhouse was arrested for one of the burglaries and for possession of stolen property. Officers and detectives from the Auburn Police Department are working with deputies and investigators from the Placer County Sheriff’s Department to resolve several other burglaries that have occurred in the grater Auburn area that Woodhouse and his associates might have committed.
Thomas Woodhouse was booked into the Placer County jail on charges of Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. Additional charges are pending from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information in regards to these crimes, please contact Sergeant Hopping at 530-823-4237 ext. 263.
