The Auburn Police Department has teamed up with the Auburn Recreation Department for this year’s National Night Out event this afternoon in Auburn.
The National Night Out movement aims to build partnerships between police and the communities they protect. Paula Leahy with the Auburn Police department shares some of the highlights planed in the local ARD Park this evening.
From 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the ARD Park off racetrack, Auburn Police Volunteers will be on hand to greet the public.
Further up Interstate 80, the Alta Community Block Party observes National Night Out from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday with games and activities for kids, volleyball, food, and a display of fire apparatus. It’s also a chance to meet neighbors and public safety officers from the Alta Fire Protection District, Cal Fire and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
