4 fires burned in the El Dorado National Forest over the weekend. Fortunately they were kept small according to El Dorado National Forest Public Information Officer Frank Mosbacker.
The fire was in steep, rugged, inaccessible terrain. There was no threat to the communities of Big Creek or Huntington Lake. More fires started on Sunday.
Mosbacker says all the fires have been contained. No one knows what caused the fires, the Eldorado National Forest is warning the public to use extra caution when traveling through the mountains especially with the drier than normal season.
