I was there also. I have spoke to several people prior to jumping, some did not jump, some did. Too many people try to get involved. After watching 24 jumpers in the last 2 years, I can say without doubt that the local police have no clue how to deal with these people. Bridge workers have as good or better chance of talking people out of it as any So-called expert. There is even an odd local woman that acts like she is resposible for the bridge and anybody on it, that has talked several people out of jumping. The woman in this photo told me to (back off) and then attempted to go over the guard rail when the man jumped. I am not saying it was her fault, I think he would have gone anyways, but I wish she had backed off herself. Since the bridge work started in 2011 24 people have made this horrible decision. I am tired of watching people do this, it makes it hard to sleep at night.
