Auburn Church Service Disrupted

Parishioners had their Sunday services interrupted with 35-year old Darrell Stuart Chavis of Sacramento, interrupted the sermon.

Shortly after noon on Sunday Auburn Police units received a call about an individual disrupting a church service in the area of High Street at Lewis Street. Auburn Police units contacted the individual who was later identified as Darrell Chavis. Chavis displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was subsequently arrested. During a search of Chavis’ belongings, officers discovered a small amount of methamphetamine.

Chavis was then transported and booked into the Placer County Jail. Chavis is currently being held on $75,000 bail. At this time, a booking photo is not available.

No damage or injuries were reported from the incident.
