Slick road ways may have been the cause of a fatality near Kingvale over the weekend. On September 21, at 10:45AM, a westbound Ford Escape, was involved in a roll over traffic collision resulting in fatal injuries to the right rear passenger.
The white Ford Escape was traveling at speeds between 60 to 70 mph in the left lane in moderate rain. According to witness statements, the Ford Escape began to fishtail, lost control, swerved left into the center median and rolled several time. As a result of the vehicle rolling, the right rear passenger sustained major head trauma.
Despite heroic attempts by witnesses and fire/medical personnel on scene, he succumbed to his injuries.
The collision is being investigated by CHP Gold Run Area office. It appears alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in this traffic collision.
