A Motorcyclist was killed in a 3 car crash in Folsom Monday. The accident happened on Greenback lane near the entrance to Negro Bar State Park at 2pm Monday when a vehicle turned left in front of the rider.
Several 9-1-1 calls came into the Folsom Police Dispatch, reporting the accident. Officer Andrew Bates with the Folsom Police department says when officers arrived they found 4 off-duty corrections officers providing aid to the injured motorcyclists.
Fire along with First Responders arrived and despite their tireless efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer Bates says an investigation revealed that the driver of the green sedan Kaman Hobbs age 23 of Truckee was operating his vehicle on a suspended license.
Additionally, Hobbs young son was I the vehicle and not properly restrained. Hobbs was arrested at the scene and later transported to the Sacramento county Sheriff’s main jail where he was booked for vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment, driving with a suspended license and violation of parole. The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
