Truckee CHP Fatality

A 24-year old Placerville man died after the truck he was driving in the Donner pass Area of Interstate 80 left the road, went down a steep embankment and struck several large boulders. Officer Peter man with the Truckee CHP office says just before 7am Monday morning the driver of the ford F250 pick-up truck who’s name has not been released, was traveling Eastbound on interstate 80 East of Donner Pass, when for unknown reason he allowed his truck to leave the roadway to the right and off the road the Ford traveling down the embankment and collided with several large boulders. The ford overturned and came to rest on its roof. The right front passenger was able to free himself and climb back to the roadway. The passenger a 22 year old also from Placerville sustained a broken wrist and abrasions in the crash. A passing car picked him up and resources will summoned to the crash where the driver who was pinned in the vehicle did succumb to his blunt force trauma injuries. Alcohol and drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
