2 men stole make-up and other beauty products from Rite-Aide over the weekend. Michael Anthony Savala, 23 Years of Age, a Transient to Auburn, and
Christopher Eugene Olsen, 32 Years of Age, of Auburn, entered the Rite Aid store at the 400 Block of Grass Valley Highway and stole several female beauty products and fled the area in a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Christopher Olsen. Olsen dropped Savala off near Kevin Court and Incline Drive. Olsen then collided into a fence as he attempted to leave the area. Placer County Air Operations located Savala and the fleeing vehicle and broadcast their locations to ground units.
Placer County Sheriff Deputies contacted Olsen and arrested him for an outstanding warrant. Auburn Police filed additional misdemeanor charges against Olsen for vehicular hit and run.
Placer County Sheriff Deputies detained Savala and turned him over to Auburn Police Officers. The stolen property was recovered on scene. Savala was arrested for burglary and booked into Placer County Jail without further incident. Bail amount is currently set at $10,000 each for Savala and Olsen. No word on intentions for the beauty products.
