Auburn City Council Considers Homeless Shelter Zoning

The Auburn City council is back in session Monday night with 3 agenda items concerning emergency Shelter or Homeless shelter zoning. Will Wong, Auburn Econ9omic Development Director explains the first 2 items concern commercial and Industrial zones.

The 3rd items concerns amending the ordinance for a potential future shelter as a permitted use in the zones approved in the previous agenda item. Wong says if approved they may be in compliance with state mandates requiring the city to select properties by the October 31st deadline.

Also on the agenda, the council will take up the topic of the regional sewer pipeline providing direction to staff as to how the city wants to move forward and The Placer county Water Agency will brief the council on the State Bay Delta Conservation plan.

The Auburn City council meets in council chambers Monday night October 28th at 6pm in the civic Center at 1225 Lincoln way in Auburn.
