The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) has released its 2013 Legislative Report Card. HJTA’s scorecard is intended as a tool to help struggling California taxpayers hold legislators of both parties accountable. Of the 120 members of the Legislature, 79 received a grade of “F” while only 25 earned an “A” grade. Twenty bills were used and represent the priorities of Association’s 200,000 members.
Nine lawmakers received a perfect score including Senator Ted Gaines for the 2nd year.
Senator Gaines said he is just representing his constituents.
Gaines says he and the tax payers association are still trying to repeal the fire tax.
