Early Tuesday morning Auburn police officers responded to the 7-11 store located in the five hundred block of Auburn Ravine Road in response to a hold up alarm. The clerk pushed the alarm because an irate patron, later identified as thirty year old Jeremy Stigge, challenged him to fight. Stigge, who was intoxicated, was angry at the clerk because the lottery ticket machine was not available for use after 2:00 a.m.
The clerk made a citizen’s arrest on Stigge and Officer Stan Hamelin took Stigge into custody. After Stigge was arrested, he was transported to the Placer County Jail. Once inside the jail, Stigge was found to have two Hydrocodone pills concealed on his person. It is a felony to be in possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, as well as bring it in into the jail facility. Stigge was therefore booked on those two additional charges.
Stigge was held in the jail with a 35,000 dollar bail.
