Drunk and drugged driving remains the number one killer on our roadways, with 774 deaths and over 24,000 injuries. The “Avoid the 7” DUI Task Force will be combating this deadly problem through DUI enforcement efforts in Placer County. Auburn Police Department will be administering a recent $110,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety for the entire county.
City of Auburn Police Chris Forman says there is a way to avoid the 7 in Placer County.
The grant activities will specifically target those who get behind the wheel after drinking too much or using drugs that impair driving. Officer Forman says there will be several types of additional enforcement under this grant.
Agencies participating in the “Avoid the 7” Placer County anti DUI Task Force include:
Auburn Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Lincoln Police Department, Placer County Sheriff Department, Rocklin Police Department, Roseville Police Department and California State Parks.
