Bob Richardson Named Grass Valley City Manager

Auburn City Manager Bob Richardson has been named the City Manager of the city of Grass Valley with 25 percent raise at that position for $163,000 annually.

The full Grass Valley City Council appeared for a special meeting to announce the replacement of Dan Holler who left in August to be Interim City Manager in Mammoth, CA. Richardson takes over the City Manager duties February 10th.

In a letter to Auburn City council members Richardson stated:

My main concern was not to blind-side you with this process.

Should we reach a final deal, I will, under Section #19 of my employment agreement, provide you with a 30 day written notice of my voluntary termination.

I will be happy to arrange any assistance you require to make this transition as comfortable as possible.  Over the past few months I have been working diligently to tie up all loose ends I could find in the City.  Additionally, you are in a stable financial position, you have a fine staff, and you have many projects in process to keep the City moving in the right direction.  I can certainly say that I am handing the City over in better shape than we received it in.

I will keep you informed on our progress.
