A missing man in El Dorado has been found unharmed. On Sunday (January 5, 2014) the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch center received a call from an individual advising that she had heard, through a facebook site, that a search was being organized for a 19 year old man in the Gated Community of Auburn Lake Trails. The caller advised that the missing person had been at a male friend’s home in the gated community when they decided to go for a walk in the community during the evening hours of Saturday January 4, 2014. The missing person did not return with his friend that evening.
Deputies were assigned to look into the matter and eventually made contact with the missing person’s mother. She advised that she had not heard from her son since Sunday and although he has been staying with various friends for the past couple weeks she feared for his safety.
Sheriff’s personnel and a California Highway Patrol aircraft responded back to the area on Monday morning to continue the investigation and to initiate a search of the surrounding area. Around 10:15 Monday morning the young man was located in a rock quarry on the outskirts of the community. He was awake and alert at that time. No further details of his condition are currently known.
