The City of Roseville is sending automated phone messages to water customers with notification of groundwater well activation. Beginning today (Monday, January 27) and operated until further notice. Government Relations Analyst with the City of Roseville Shawn Bigley explains the need to switch to the wells is to maintain lake levels at Folsom.
Bigley says the Groundwater is safe to drink and meets all state and federal drinking water standards although some customers may notice a difference in water characteristics. Bigly says the city is asking for a voluntary reduction in water use.
To learn more visit www.roseville.ca.us/wells or call 774-5750. Customer service staff are available for questions during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
The well-activation notice applies to City of Roseville water customers and not to Roseville residents and businesses who are customers of San Juan Water District, Placer County Water Agency or Citrus Heights Water District; however all Roseville residents and businesses are included in the city’s request that residents and businesses reduce their water use voluntarily by 20 percent.
