Suspicious Fire in Placerville

Investigators upgrade an early Tuesday morning fire at apartment complex on Woodridge Court in Placerville to suspicious.

Investigators will continue to collect evidence and witness statements to determine the exact cause and origin of the fire along with the events surrounding the apartment at the time of the fire.

Tuesday morning at 5:01AM emergency personnel were called to an apartment complex at 2661 Woodridge Court by a neighbor reporting a fire. Two adult males were located outside the apartment with burns and were taken to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. There were two additional occupants inside the apartment at the time of the fire that escaped without injuries. Neighboring apartments were evacuated resulting in the displacement of occupants of approximately 5 units. The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.

Investigators with the Placerville Police Department and El Dorado County Fire District are conducting a joint investigation into the cause and origin of the early morning fire at this time.
