Teen Rescued After 250 Foot Drop into Canyon

Placer County Sheriff’s Lt. John Peretti reports that shortly after 1 pm Tuesday a 17-year old male was “goofing around” near the over look at Warten’s Market in Foresthill and fell off the cliff, about 250 feet into the canyon. The CHP helicopter was called but their lines could not reach that far down into the canyon. Rope crews responded and reached the boy. Peretti says he is conscience and responsive. He appears to have a head injury but can communicate. Crews have taken him to a ground ambulance for transport to Sutter Roseville.
