PCWA Talks Drought Impact Thursday

The Placer County Water Agency board meets for their regular meeting on Thursday and the agenda includes a review of drought emergency and water shortage. The board will hear reports on the impacts of the drought on local water supply availability to Placer County and to PCWA’s Western Water System service area and will be asked to take action regarding a resolution approving restricted water allocation to Zone 5.

PCWA Deputy Director of Technical Services and drought project manager Tony Firenzi says they are in pretty good shape now but they need to keep an eye toward irrigation season.

And Firenzi says water is being offered to zone 5, a largely agricultural area of the county but at a steep cost due to the additional pumping needed to move the water.
