PCSO- Nothing Found in Colfax Following School Lock Down

@PlacerSheriff: Nothing found at COLFAX schools.

Colfax Schools were locked down shortly before noon on Wednesday after three first-grade students reported seeing a man wearing a black mask and carrying a long gun and a handgun. The students said the man was walking in the soccer field, toward Colfax Elementary School. A perimeter was immediately set up and both the elementary school and nearby Colfax High were on lockdown. Multiple agencies assisted the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. A CHP helicopter assisted with the search. The Searches were finalized at both COLFAX schools around 2:30 and Students were released to parents shortly after. The Elementary school first, then the High School.

Units are continuing a room to room search on both school campuses in Colfax. The CHP helicopter providing air support until it needed to refuel and the Sheriff’s helicopter, Falcon 30, continued the search.

Numerous law enforcement officers from throughout the region were on the scene. No suspect matching the student’s description was located during the search.
