David Correa appeared in the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville on Tuesday for a bail reduction hearing where Judge James F. Dawson ultimately denied him bail.
Correa has a previous DUI conviction on record in 2006.
Correa is being charged with DUI felony murder and gross vehicular manslaughter in the death of Barbara Crowell. Because of his previous DUI conviction, Correa faces murder charges under the Watson murder rule. Other charges include possession of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended license. On July 10, Correa pleaded not guilty to those charges.
Correa, 38, of Foresthill was driving his Toyota Truck on Foresthill Road when he struck and killed the cyclist at 6:30 a.m. on July 3rd as she rode out of the canyon towards Auburn.
Correa is scheduled to appear in court on Sept 2, at 8:30 a.m. in the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville
