The Candidates Are Chosen
The candidate filings deadlines have come and gone, and the general elections are 83 days away. Candidates are ready to win over your vote on November 4th and there are plenty to pick from in City Council races. Some candidates are new to the race, and some are have been around the block a few times.
Here is a roundup of some of the local city elections.
Auburn City Council has three seats up for election. Competing for the spots are Daniel Burlant, Mike Holmes, Bridget Powers, and Matt Spokely. This term, incumbent Kevin Hanley will not be running again, so he can focus on his new position as CEO at Auburn Chamber Of Commerce.
Rocklin is considered a done deal with two seats open and only two candidates filing. Two incumbents Diana Ruslin and Scott Yuill will fulfill the vacant seats and the race will be withdrawn from the ballot.
The Town of Loomis will have a competitive race with four seats available and eight people vying for them. On the ballot are Bryan Baker, Robert Black, Jeff Duncan, Vic Markey, Thomas Millward, Tim Onderko, and Miguel Ucovich.
Up the freeway, in the City of Colfax, three seats are open. Christopher Flaten, Tony Hensch , Kelly Molley, and William Stockwin are making their bid for City Council.
Another tight competition could be in Roseville where two seats are open and five people are running. Running this term are Rene Aguilera, Tim Herman, Gary Miller, Susan Rohan, and Yuriy Seretskiy.
