A man convicted of killing Folsom Correctional Officer Jerry Walker in a head-on DUI crash back in 2004 is under arrest again.
On Thursday night, Scott St. Pierre led Citrus Heights Police on a high-speed chase on Auburn Boulevard through Citrus Heights that ended in a multi-vehicle crash.
Officers were pursuing St. Pierre on a parole violation. The high-speed pursuit reached speeds up to 80 mph. St. Pierre was wanted on a felony warrant for drug trafficking charges, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers said that he sped off without any headlights and put other drivers in harms way. Police said that St. Pierre ran a red light during the pursuit and struck two vehicles, hitting one of them head on.
One person was severely injured in the crash and suffered a broken leg.
Approximately three hours prior to the 2004 fatal crash involving Walker on Blue Oaks Parkway, St. Pierre was released from jail on a previous drunken driving arrest. He was also driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI arrest in 2003.
