Suspect Arrested For Auburn Homicide

A Placer County resident was murdered in Auburn early Friday morning. Auburn Police Officers found Steve Shelton, 62, injured at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Sacramento Street. The officers discovered he was stabbed, and he later died at a local hospital.

On Saturday morning, police arrested the 19-year old homicide suspect and Auburn resident Timothy Mason at his home on Sacramento Street. The investigation is ongoing, and so far it is believed that there are no other suspects involved. After his arrest, Mason was booked to the Placer County Jail in Auburn and is currently being held without bail.
