New home sales in Placer county and the region are high. 402 new home sales were recorded in July and best in a dozen years. Placer and Sacramento counties were again the leaders in housing numbers, with a total of 336 of the 402 homes sold between them. Sacramento County had 213 sales and Placer County had 123. A distant third, Yolo County had 28. El Dorado County, a pre-recession hotspot, recorded six sales in July. Sutter County had 15 and Yuba County had 17. Single-family home permit activity was strong in July in Placer and Sacramento counties. Sacramento County recorded 276 permits and Placer County had 210. Yolo County issued 112 permits and El Dorado County issued 33.
