The space called the courtyard, part of Gov. Newsoma s office, is quietly being transformed into a playground area for children. Gov. Newsom and his first Partner have 4 children, and staff members of the Gov.a s office also have the privilege of bringing their children to work in the Capitol. This courtyard was the same location of the famous Cigar Smoking Tent under Gov. Schwarzenegger and a dog run for Gov. Jerry Brown. The Gov. in his revised May adjustment to the budget has increased funding for new families, increases spending on childcare, family tax credits and early education programs.
