Forty Eight year old Stanley Stepanski III of Florence Montana,A has been identified as the suspect in Tuesday’s South Placer County Shootings.A The Placer County Sheriffas office released the name of the Victim of what appeared to be a random shooting on Tuesday night in Lower Placer County. Mary Toste, age 93, a resident of Rock Springs Road in Penryn, was at the door of her home whenA Stepanski drove his truck to her house and shot her dead. The shooting spree started earlier in a parking lot in New Castle, moved to Penryn, then to Loomis where he shot another man, identified as Brian Price while driving in his car.A Stepanski then drove West on I-80 ending up crashing into several cars and ending up on the medium near the overpass of highway 65 and 80. A confrontation with police and sheriff deputies ended in a shoot out, killing him. Seven total crime scenes are being investigated by Placer County Sheriffs and the I-80 shooting scene is being investigated by the Roseville Police. The shooter, Stepanski had no known connection to any of the victims in the area. He previously lived in Vacaville and had several recorded incidents with law enforcement while living in Montana. A Sheriff K-9 officer known as aErosa was shot but recovering following treatment.
