Grant Union High School is heading into football playoffs 12 players short after a fight broke out on the field last week. Grant was facing off against Whitney High School in Rocklin Friday night when players, coaches and fans rushed the field after two players started brawling during the third quarter. The fight lasted just seconds. In those moments, a Whitney coach can be seen taking off a Grant playeras helmet while trying to break up the fight. Video shows that player then body slams another Whitney coach to the ground. Referees ended the game early because of the brawl.A The California Interscholastic Federation, the stateas governing body of high school sports reviewed video footage and found athletes from both schools were involved. Friday marked Whitney Highas last football game for the season; CIFas Garrison said those players wonat be punished. However, Grant is advancing to the playoffs; the CIF is benching 12 players from the first game because of the fight.
