The open city council seat which was held by recent Mayor Bill Kirby is in the process of getting applications from anyone interested filed by Thursday so it can be ready for Monday nighta s meeting of the City Council where they will discussed. A special meeting will be scheduled later in the week for a decision and an appointment for someone to serve in the position for the rest of the year. Alice Dowdin announced this morning that she is interested and also said she will throw her name in the ring for the election in November for the next full term on the council.
