The City of Lincoln continues to discuss the issues that have fallen out of the city not paying for its own water use over the past several years. Senator Ted Gains discussed the State Audit that his office has sponsored and requested that is scheduled to begin soon. City Council members are making media statements critical of the City Manager Matt Brower at not informing the council of bringing to light the many years of non-payment by the city of water usage for parks, water fountains and fire hydrants. There is also concern that the cost to the city for extra staff to support the audit will affect the citya s ability to pay short term obligations.
