Placer County Supervisors approved a new budget yesterday for fiscal year July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020 which is 10.4 million dollars less than this yearas budget. The new approved budget will be 960 million dollars for this fiscal year. The budget this year covers general operating costs, Services like fire and sheriff support, Capitol projects which include new and rebuilds, and a rainy-day fund if there are economic hard times ahead, which is projected. x Housing has become an issue as California continues to attract residents but not enough housing units to provide for them. Highway repairs, Libraries and Bookmobile services, Fire services, and preservation of county lands are all a part of the budget process. This budget must support 393 thousand residents and sustain the growth that has placed Placer county in the number one growth spot this year.
