Heavy smoke from Northern California has blanketed the City of Reno creating some of the worst bad air conditions for the city of Reno in its history. The main stream of smoke has been coming into the Reno valley from the Yosemite fire, and this past week from the Redding Shasta fires. In addition, there are several smaller fires north of Reno in Nevada also feeding smoke into the area. A The Air Quality index is considered unhealthy when it reaches an index of 151. Yesterday at 3 PM the Reno index was 172.A Visibility at the Reno airport yesterday was down to 3 miles.
